Important Update: We now have detailed maps of Chiang Dao, Chiang Dao Area and
Day Ride Loops available for sale at Mon and Kurt’s Restaurant and Guesthouse
for 20 Baht each. These maps are
also available at some other locations. (Sorry, respecting the copyright of the
creator of the map, we are not able to post them online)
To get to Chiang Dao from Chiang Mai, drive towards Mae Rim and continue on the Road to Fang. (on Highway 107) About half way between Chiang Mai and Fang (75 km after you leave Chiang Mai), you will arrive in Chiang Dao.
There is also a bus that leaves Chang Phuak Bus Station every half hour until about 6:30pm, from Chiang Mai. (40 Baht) The bus travels Chiang Mai, Chiang Dao, Fang, Thaton and back to Chiang Mai. If you want to catch it leaving Chiang Dao, you just wave it down from the side of the road. Another option would be to take one of the yellow Songtheaws (40 Baht)

If you are looking for Mon and Kurt's restaurant, follow highway 107 straight through Chiang Dao, you will see a 7-11 on the left hand side, keep going another 2.5km and you will see our restaurant and signs on the right.
